If you have seen signs of mold in your home and are wondering what the best course of action should be, information is power. You must be able to make well informed decisions on how to eliminate it completely. You may or may not have heard the terms “mold removal” and “mold remediation”. At first glance, they seem to be the same thing, but they are completely different. It is important to know the difference; especially when you are going to hire a company to conduct a service.
If you were to find mold stains on your walls or ceiling, of course you want to eliminate them, as soon as possible. Unfortunately, due to its nature, mold cannot be completely removed. It also can grow even in cold temperatures over carpets, wallpaper and other fabrics; it is often pink, white or reddish.
Often found in white or grayish color, you may see it near air conditioning, HVAC systems and ducting.
It is an allergenic form of mold. It is easy to recognize by its characteristic blue or green colored surface with a velvety texture. Penicillin mold is often found in water-damaged homes and buildings. It is found in materials such as carpets, wallpapers, ducting and even in mattresses.
It the terrible well known as the “black mold.” It is dark greenish or black in color and has a slimy texture and proliferates in humid environments like wooden, card boarded, papered areas.
It is generally white with green patches and it grows in wet surfaces like wallpaper, carpets or other wet surfaces.
It proliferates in wetness and water and is typically confused with other types of mold because it can grow together with other species.
